We continue to make trips to Cookson with donation deliveries as well as workers each April and November.  If you have an interest in joining in on this mission, please contact us at office@umcnl.com.  We will see that your put in touch with the leader of the next trip!

Here are some of the pictures from one of our past trips:

In 2016, we sent chicks for their reservation families to raise as a food source and then in October, we collected new items for their Christmas store so that families could purchase items for their families at a price they could afford.  (Above is just a portion of the gifts sent down to Cookson).

20130501_093407Adult Mission Team Members… UMC of New Lenox also sponsors a second group that travels to the mission at the end of April. This team delivers a trailer full of donations from the congregation and also works at the mission center.

A collection drive to help the Cookson Hills Mission Center prepare for Christmas to Christmas giftsaid low income families was very successful and many items were sent down for over 1,000 people to shop for gifts.

UMCNL sponsors the missionary at Cookson Hill Mission.  Our first missionary was Meri Whitaker, who visited us in October of 2013 to further strengthen our relationship with her and the Cookson Hills Mission Center.  She has recently retired.  We continue to support the newest missionary assigned there.
